Neighborhoods throughout Williamson County are invited to join with thousands of communities nationwide on Tuesday, August 3rd 2010, to participate in the 27th Annual "National Night Out".

Responses Support Recycling and Safety

Williamson County received just 33 responses to its online survey regarding the proposed landfill Master Recycling and Site Development plans. In addition, the County received 10 written statements with comments. Overarching trends in survey responses include that 100 percent stated that recycling is very or somewhat important, and 85 percent were very or somewhat supportive of improving safety and traffic flow at the landfill and recycling drop-off center.

July is National Parks Month

If you are planning a July outing in one of Williamson County’s parks or preserves, get your camera ready! The month of July is recognized nationally as Park and Recreation Month. Local residents are invited to participate in the national “Celebrate, Advocate, Recreate!” campaign to gain “exposure” for county parks by submitting photo imagery of their favorite scenic or action shots taken in any Williamson County park or recreation facility.

County Bond Rating Raised to AAA

Williamson County’s bond rating has been raised to a AAA from AA+ on its ongoing general obligation debt and the county’s series 2010 pass-through financing revenue and limited tax bonds by Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services. Fitch Ratings also assigned an initial AAA rating to Williamson County’s $35.44 million pass-through financing revenue and limited tax bonds, series 2010.

Put in Your Two Cents on Landfill Plans

Williamson County is accepting comments on the Williamson County Landfill Site Development and Master Recycling Plans until July 8, 2010. Information provided at an Open House held June 8 is available through this link as well as the survey to provide your input.

Summer Tennis Camps Offered for Area Youth

Weekly summer tennis camp sessions are offered at the Williamson County Southwest Regional Park. The four-day sessions are scheduled to begin on Monday, June 7 and run concurrently through Thursday, August 19, 2010, with morning and afternoon options available, depending on the player’s age and level of ability.

Open House May 6 for RM 620 Improvements

The public is invited to an Open House on Thursday, May 6, 2010 presenting proposed improvements to RM 620 from Cornerwood Drive to Wyoming Springs Drive, a distance of approximately 2.0 miles. The Open House will be held in the Elm Room at the Brushy Creek MUD Community Center located at 16318 Great Oaks Drive, Round Rock, Texas from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Joint General and Special Elections held May 8

Early voting for the May 8 Joint General and Special Elections began Monday, April 26, and continues through Tuesday, May 4. Sample ballots and polling locations are available at the Elections website at www.wilco.org/elections.
